  1. Candidates for the posts of Professor and Reader are required to submit alongwith their list of publications, details of their three major publications (out of which one could be a book for the post of Professor)  and also submit 4 sets of these research publications, as mentioned in the proforma.   2. Appointment of staff under Self-Financing Scheme will be governed  by the rules under Self-Financing Scheme for the post applied for.
  3.  Protection of emoluments, higher start, benefit of leave salary, pension contribution, etc. for those joining on deputation can also be considered for well experienced and deserving candidates.
  4. For senior positions, suitable persons can be considered even in absentia and may also be taken on deputation, if requested for.  Those already working as Professors, and / or otherwise not able/willing to attend the interview, may be invited for interaction. The University may also invite someone to join as a  Professor position if recommended so by peer selection team.
  5. For non-teaching posts, age should be between 18-50 years.  However, age bar is relaxable for otherwise exceptionally good candidates, particularly for senior positions.
  6. Reservation of posts for SC/BC/PH/ Ex-Servicemen will be for Haryana Residents only and as per other conditions of reservation policy of State Govt. /University. 
  7. Where specialization has been mentioned against any post(s), candidates should submit documentary proof thereof. Reserved posts are without specialization.
  8. The number of posts can be increased or decreased according to requirement.  The University reserves the right to short-list the candidates to be called for interview.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADVERTISEMENT NO. 1/2008

Candidates must go through the following instructions before filling up the Application Form:

 

1.                                    Candidates for the post of Professor and Reader are required to submit the details of their three major publications (out of which one could be a book for the post of Professor) in the enclosed proforma (fourteen copies=14) and also submit reprints of 4 sets of their publications.

Three major research publications as are necessarily required for selection to the post of Professor in various Departments should pertain to the period after appointment of a candidate on the post of Reader or equivalent thereto.  Likewise, the research publications for the post of Reader should pertain to the period between his/her date of joining as Lecturer and the last date for receipt of Application Form.  In case of a lecturer who joins with Ph. D degree, cannot submit his/her Ph. D work for assessment.

They are also required to supply 4 Sets of the copies of the title page(s) and contents page(s) of each Journal in which the publications under reference were published.

The proceedings of the Seminar/ Workshop/Conference/Congress/ Symposium etc. will not be considered as published work and the credit shall not be given to the teacher for the same.  Similarly, the edited book or paper published in the edited book will also not be treated as research/ published work.

2.                  Ten Xerox copies of the Application Form for the post of Lecturer and fourteen Xerox copies for the post of Reader and Professor must be sent alongwith the form. Attested copies of all the certificates/testimonials be attached with original Application Form.

3.                  Name of the post applied for must be superscribed at the top of the envelope as under:

“Application for the post of _______________________________”.

4.                  Those who are already in employment should submit their Application Form through proper channel.

5.                  Application not supported with required application fee, attested copies of certificates/testimonials/reprints of Research Publications, title page(s) and contents page(s) of each Journal in which the publication under reference were published and the applications received after the expiry of last date will be liable to be rejected.

6.                  Concealment of facts or supply of wrong information will result in cancellation of candidature in addition to legal action.

7.                  Reservation of posts of SC/BC/PH will be for Haryana residents only and as per other conditions of reservation policy of State Govt. / University.

8.                  The candidates applying for the posts under ESM (dependent of ESM) category should submit a  certificate duly issued by the Zila, Sainik Board to the effect that his/her father has not availed the benefit of re-employment in any Govt. Service, Public Sector Undertakings, including Para Military Forces. The dependent sons and daughters of                Ex-servicemen will be considered for appointment(s) against the posts reserved for               Ex-servicemen to the extent of non-availability of suitable Ex-servicemen, provided they fulfill all the required conditions viz. qualifications, age, experience etc. This entitlement would be available to one dependent child only, as per State Government instructions. 

9.                  Candidates should send proof of specialization where the post has been advertised with specific specialization. The Reserved posts are without specialization.

10.              The University reserves the right to short-list candidates for the posts of Lecturer to be called for interview.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PRESCRIBED

(For University Teaching Departments, Institute of Management Studies, Distance Education, M.B.A, Five year Course & for all other posts except where it is specified separately.

PROFESSOR

An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with ten years of experience in Post-Graduate teaching, and/or experience in research at the University/National level Institutions, including experience of guiding research at Doctoral level.

OR

An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge.

READER

Good Academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work.  In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level.

            Five years experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some marks in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

LECTURER 

Good Academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University.

NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those holding a post-graduate degree.  Candidates having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are, however, exempted from clearing NET both for PG level and UG level teaching.  Those having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject shall be exempted from clearing NET for UG level teaching only.

For determining good academic record, a candidate should either have average of 55% marks in two of the three examinations (not below Matric or equivalent) prior to Master’s degree or 50% marks in each of these two examinations separately. The following relaxation will, however, operate:

i)       Candidates having 55% or above             The criteria of good academic record

PROFESSOR  (SOCIAL WORK)

            An eminent Scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research with 10 years of experience in Post-graduate teaching and/or experience in research at the University/National level Institutions, including experience of guiding research at doctoral level in Social Work.

READER   (SOCIAL WORK)

            Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. Evidence of being actively engaged in (1) research or (2) innovation in teaching method or (3) production of teaching materials. Possess at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Master’s degree level.

            About Eight years experience  of teaching and/or research provided that at least five of these years were as lecturers or in a equivalent position.

OR

            10 years of experience in field practice and professional publication based on work experience, and experience in training and/or field instruction. Experience in consultation and documentation.

LECTURER (Computer Science & Applications)

Good Academic Record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Master’s degree in the relevant subject from an Indian/ Foreign University.

OR

Good Academic Record with at least 55% marks in master’s degree in mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics/ operations Research/ Physics and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science of any recognized University or its equivalent (relaxable if the research works of a candidate in Computer Science as evident either from his thesis or from his published work is of very high standard.

NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those holding a post-graduate degree.  Candidates having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are, however, exempted from clearing NET both for PG level and UG level teaching.  Those having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject shall be exempted from clearing NET for UG level teaching only.

Lecturer ( Fine Arts)

Good Academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades, O,A,B,C,D, E & F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

“Candidates possessing the Degree(s) Master of Fine Arts/Master of Visual Arts (4 years at the graduation level and 2 years at the post-graduation level)  shall be given preference.”

NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those holding a post-graduate degree.  Candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are, however, exempted from clearing NET both for PG level and UG level teaching.  Those having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject shall be exempted from clearing NET for UG level teaching only.

LECTURER(APPLIED ARTS)

For Lecturer in Applied Arts (for B.F.A. Course) the qualifications will be the same as are given for the  general post of Lecturer. However, the candidates should possess Bachelor degree in Fine Arts. 

LECTURER  (Electronic Science)

            Good academic record with at least 55% marks in M.Sc. Electronic Science or M.Sc. Physics with an optional paper in Electronics/Semi-conductor Electronics or M.Tech./M.Sc. (Tech.) in Electronics/semi-conductor Electronics from any recognized University or its equivalent degree from an Indian/Foreign University.

            NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those holding a post-graduate degree. Candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are, however, exempted from clearing NET both for PG level and UG level teaching. Those having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject shall be exempted from clearing NET for UG level teaching only.

Directorate of Distance Education

Director

1st or high second class Master’s degree of Indian University or an equivalent degree of a Foreign University, with at least 10 years experience of teaching and Research/Administration

                                                                       OR

Ph.D with at least 10 years teaching experience in a University or College or Directorate/ Institute of Correspondence Courses.

Desirable :

a)   3 years experience of Administration in a University or a College or Directorate/ Institute of Correspondence Courses as Reader/ Professor / Principal.

b)  Knowledge of Hindi.

 


Lecturer(s) ( University College of Education)

(i)         M.Ed./M.A. (Education) with minimum 55% marks and B.Ed. (in the case of Lecturers in Education).

OR

            Master’s degree in a school subject with minimum 50% marks and M.Ed./M.A. (Education) with 55% marks and B.Ed. (in the case of Lecturers for teaching of relevant subject).

(ii)        Two years’ school teaching experience is desirable.

(iii)       Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education for Lecturers in Education.  However for Lecturer in teaching of relevant subject a candidate should possess NET in Education or NET in relevant subject conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

            However, the Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Education are exempted from NET for teaching at P.G. and U.G. level in case of Lecturer in Education or for teaching of relevant subject.  The candidates having M.Phil. degree in Education are exempted from NET for teaching at U.G. level in case of Lecturer in Education or for teaching of relevant subject.

            The candidates having Ph.D. degree in relevant subject are exempted from NET for P.G. level and U.G. level in case of Lecturers in teaching of relevant subject only.  The candidates having M.Phil. degree in relevant subject are exempted from NET for U.G. level in case of Lecturer for teaching of relevant subject only.

 

NOTE:

(i)         A relaxation of 5% shall be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s level for the SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped category.

(ii)        Apart from the qualifications prescribed above for Lecturer (from i to iii above), the candidates shall have to qualify NET/SLET qualifications or alternative qualifications thereto as prescribed by UGC from time to time before the commencement of the academic session 2009-2010.

(iii)       Appointment of teachers shall be such as to ensure the availability of expertise for teaching all foundation and methodology courses.

(iv)       For the teaching of Physical Science the required Master's degree will be M.Sc. Physics or Chemistry; for the teaching of Life Science it will be M.Sc. Zoology or Botany; and for teaching of Social Studies it will be Master's Degree in History or Political Science or Economics or Geography or Sociology or Public Administration.

For K.U. Post-graduate Regional Centre, Jind:

Reader for MCA & MBA :

Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A, B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree level.

            Five years experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some marks in the areas of Scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

1.      Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record.

2.      Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian.

3.      Evidence of innovative library services, published work and professional commitment, computerization of library. 

Desirable :-

1.      M.Phil/Ph.D. in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation/ Archives and Manuscript-keeping;

2.      Evidence in support of experience in application of Library Automation Networking, and knowledge of software in information processing and retrieval.

Sports Department

Director (Physical Education & Sports)

1. Ph.D. in Physical Education.

2. Experience of at least ten years as University Deputy or fifteen years as University Assistant D.P.E.’s/College D.P.E.’s (Selection Grade).

3. Participation in at least two National/International Seminars/Conferences.

4. Consistently good appraisal reports.

5. Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least two weeks duration.

6. Evidence of having produced good performance teams/athletes for competitions like State/ National / Inter University/ Combined University, etc.

Assistant  Director Sports(Female)

1. A first/second Class Master’s degree in Physical Education OR first/second class M.A./ M.Sc. with first/second class Diploma in Physical Education.

2. At least 5 years experience of organizing games at the College /Univ. level, relaxable in case of outstanding Candidates possessing high Sports achievements and Educational qualifications. Preference to N.I.S. qualified persons.

 

Women Studies Research Centre

Research Officer :

i. A doctorate degree or research work of an equally high standard in Social Sciences/Sciences Education/Humanities.

ii. Good academic record with at least 2nd class (C in seven point scale).

iii. Master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Sciences/ Education/ Humanities from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University.

Desirable:

The candidate should have research work in the area of women’s studies.  

 


General Administration

Controller of Examinations

1. Master’s degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale.

2. At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (senior Sclae)/ Lecturer with 8 years’ in Reader’s grade alongwith experience in Educational administration:

Comparable experience in the research establishment and/ or other institutions of higher educations.

OR

15 years’ of administrative experience of  which 8 years’ as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

The condition of experience may be relaxed by the Establishment Committee /Executive Council in case of deserving  & suitable candidates having relevant experience  in line at University level.

Desirable:

Experience of conducing the University examinations will be desirable.

Age: 18-50 year. Maximum age limit is relaxable in special case, by the appointing authority .

 

Administrative Officer

1. Good academic record plus Master’s degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale.

 

Desirable : -

Industrial background or the knowledge or working of Private and/or public Ltd. Companies or Educational Institutions.

 

Executive Engineer (Civil)

Recognized degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications. Minimum experience of 10 years against a post not below the rank of an Assistant Engineer.

 

Sub Divisional Officer

Degree in Engineering (Electrical) from a recognized University or equivalent. The candidate should have at least 3 yrs. experience in designing, preparation of estimates, supervision and execution of electrical installations work in buildings, installations of overhead/underground L.T./ H.T. transmission and distribution lines, motors with associated control gears. Should be well conversant with Indian Electricity Acts and Rules and Government specifications for electrical works in the buildings. Capable of preparation of contractors’ bills and tenders for electrical works independently.

 

Chief Security Officer

A retired permanent regular Commission Army Officer not below the rank of Major from the Infantry or Armoured Corps with a good record of service.

OR

 A retired Police Officer not below the rank of Supdt. with a good record of service.

Knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

(New appointee should not be below the rank of Colonel, according to revised grade.)

 

 

Landscape Officer

1. B.Sc. (Agriculture) with Horticulture/Land Scape as major subject.  M.Sc. (Agriculture) Land Scape preferred.

Ph.D. Degree with first class degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology with 10 years experience in Teaching/Industry/Research out of which 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor and / or equivalent.

Candidates from Industry/Profession with Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology and with professional work which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D degree and with 10 years experience of which at least 5years should be at a Senior Level comparable to that of an Assistant Professor would also be eligible.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR  (Electronics & Communication Engg. and Computer Science Engg.).

Ph.D. degree with the first class at Bachelor's or Master's level in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology with 2 years experience in Teaching / Industry / Research at the level of Lecturer or equivalent.                               

OR

First Class at Master's level in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology with 5 years experience in teaching / Industry / Research at the level of lecturer or equivalent. Such candidates will be required to obtain Ph.D. degree within a period of 7 years from the date of appointment as Assistant Professor. In the case of Universities / Universities departments and those institutes offering PG programmes / Research, Ph.D.  is a must. For candidates from Industry / Professional experience in R&D and patents would be desirable requirements failing which the increments will be stopped until Ph.D. is earned.

Candidates from Industry/ Profession with First Class Bachelor's degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology or First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.                

AND

Professional work, which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D.* degree and with 2 years experience at a position equivalent to lecturer level would also be eligible.

LECTURER

First Class Master’s degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology (No minimum experience required)                       

OR

First Class Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, valid GATE score, minimum 75 percentile; to complete M. Tech /ME within  5 years  failing  which  the increments will be stopped until the postgraduate degree is earned. 

LECTURER (BIOTECHNOLOGY) :

First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) /Technology (Tech.) (No minimum experience required).

OR

First Class Bachelor's degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

OR

Ph D in Applied Biological Sciences such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy, Biophysics

LECTURER (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics)

First Class Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline with good academic record.

OR

High second class 55% marks & above, Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline having cleared the NET/SLET for lecturer conducted by the CSIR/UGC or any accredited body.

LECTURER  (Management )

First Class Master's degree in Business Management / Administration/ other relevant management related discipline / PGDBM / PGDM programmes (minimum 2 years duration) recognized by AICTE / MHRD / UGC and declared equivalent to MBA by AICTE/AIU.

TRAINING & PLACEMENT OFFICER

1.         First class B. Tech and MBA (HR) from a recognized and reputed Institution.

OR

2.         First class M. Tech. with PG Diploma (HR) and one year experience as Manager (HRD)/Training and/or Placement Office in reputed organizations.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

Persons having more than five years experience as Training & Placement Officer/Industrial Training in India & abroad in a reputed Engineering Institution with proven track record will be given preference.    

NETWORK ENGINEER

B.  Tech.  1st   Division   in Computer   Science & Engg./Electronics & Communications/ Information Technology.

Preference will be given to the candidates having at least 3 years experience in relevant field. 

LIBRARIAN

1.                  Qualifying in the National level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. However, the Ph.D. and M.Phil degree holders are exempted from NET.  

 

2.                  Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/ documentation or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale plus a consistently good academic record, computerization of library.

3.              The candidates holding the Ph.D. degree who are already in the university system and have obtained Master’s Degree prior to 1991 will be given relaxation of 5% i.e. from 55% to 50% of marks.

READER / ASSOCIATE PROFSSOR  (Mass Communication)

1.                  Ph.D. degree in Communication/Mass Communication/Journalism from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

OR

            Published work of Doctoral standard or media production work of excellence.

2.                  Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at Master’s level in the subject.

3.                  Eight years experience of teaching and/or research including upto three years for research degree and having made a mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications/contribution to education innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

OR

Ten years full time work experience in any areas of Mass Communication (Newspaper accredited with ABC, National News Agencies, Radio or Television, Film Media, Reputed Advertising Agencies, Public Relation Officers of the Govt., Public Sector Undertakings and established Industrial and Commercial Houses).

READER / ASSOCIATE PROFSSOR  (Printing Technology)

Ph.D. degree with the first class at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology with 2 years experience in Teaching / Industry/ Research at the level of Lecturer or equivalent.

OR

NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those holding a post-graduate degree.  Candidates having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are, however, exempted from clearing NET both for PG level and UG level teaching.  Those having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject shall be exempted from clearing NET for UG level teaching only.

Desirable

INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

DIRECTOR:

            Professor in relevant discipline with total experience of 10 (ten) years in the field of Teaching/Industry/Research.

             The maximum age for holding the post of Director/Principal shall be 65 years.

DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION :

Professor

General Qualifications as prescribed for the post of Professor of Education will be applicable.

Lecturers:-

Lecturers in Teaching of Social Studies and Teaching of Physical Sciences (for B.Ed. two years course).

            Master’s degree in a school subject with minimum 50% marks and M.Ed/ M.A (Education) with 55% marks and B.Ed.

            Two years’ school teaching experience is desirable.

For the teaching of Physical Sciences the required Master’s Degree will be M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry; for the teaching of Life Sciences it will be M.Sc. in Zoology or Botany; and for teaching of Social Studies it will be Master’s Degree in History or Political Science or Economics or Geography or Sociology or Public Administration.

 

            Appointment of teachers shall be such as to ensure the availability of expertise for teaching all foundation and methodology courses

 

            Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education for Lecturers in Education.  However for Lecturer in teaching of relevant subject a candidate should possess NET in Education or NET in relevant subject conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

 

            However, the Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Education are exempted from NET for teaching at P.G. and U.G. level in case of Lecturer in Education or for teaching of relevant subject.  The candidates having M.Phil. degree in Education are exempted from NET for teaching at U.G. level in case of Lecturer in Education or for teaching of relevant subject.

 

            The candidates having Ph.D. degree in relevant subject are exempted from NET for P.G. level and U.G. level in case of Lecturers in teaching of relevant subject only.  The candidates having M.Phil. degree in relevant subject are exempted from NET for U.G. level in case of Lecturer for teaching of relevant subject only.

 

NOTE:

            A relaxation of 5% shall be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s level for the SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped category.
